Privacy Policy
Last updated: 19 September 2026
Change Lens is designed around browser-first comparison. This policy explains what is processed locally, what may be sent to cloud services, and what is stored when you create an account.
1. Source documents
For the current comparison tools, source PDF, DOCX, text, image and scan files are read and compared in your browser. Change Lens does not intentionally upload the original source files to its application server for normal comparison.
2. AI assistance
Normal Ask Change Lens AI requests send the question and structured detected changes or image metrics. They do not send the full source files. Clause-level AI sends the selected old/new clause and nearby context only after you explicitly choose “Allow once” for that clause.
3. Accounts and cloud workspace
If you create an account, Change Lens stores account information such as your email, name, protected password verifier, plan, sessions, usage counters, support messages and sanitized structured reports you choose to save. Cloud reports are filtered to exclude full extracted text, raw source content, image data URLs and clause context.
4. Payments
If paid plans are enabled, checkout and subscription billing are handled by the configured payment provider. Change Lens stores provider customer/subscription identifiers and subscription status, not full card details.
5. Analytics
Change Lens records limited first-party product events such as page views, completed comparisons, pricing views, signups, saved reports and campaign parameters. These events are intended to improve the product and measure marketing performance; they do not include uploaded document contents.
6. Retention and deletion
Account data remains until you delete your account or it is otherwise removed under applicable requirements. Session records expire automatically. Share links can be revoked and may have expiry dates. You can export and permanently delete your account from Account settings.
7. Service providers
Change Lens may use infrastructure, AI, payment and email service providers to operate the service. Data sent to those providers is limited to what is required for the relevant feature.
8. Contact
For privacy questions, use the contact form. Do not send confidential full documents through support.
